De revolutie-professionals

De revolutie-professionals from Observer1964 on Vimeo.

Deel 2 Deel 3

We head to New Delhi, where at the DSC university, Professor Alka Tyagi speaks with her students about the conflicts that the greatest warrior of the Mahabharata, Arjuna has.

She also discusses the conversation which Arjuna has with lord Krishna just before the great war of Mahabharata takes place at Kurukshetra. This conversation between the two is a chapter in the Mahabharata called ' The Bhagavad Gita'. She explains them about the symbolism in this tale.

Thus she tells how the carriage of Arjuna and the symbols within the carriage such as: the wheels, the horses, the path, the destination, the rider and charioteer (driver) are all metaphors of life, and that each of us faces a challenge in our modern life.

What is the spiritual significance of the battle which is described in the Bhagavad Gita for people of the here and now?

Thich Nhat Hanh - Peace is Every Step

Author of many books (including the bestsellers Being Peace, Living Buddha/Living Christ, The Miracle of Mindfulness and Peace Is Every Step),

Thich Nhat Hanh has had a profound impact on contemporary thinking and, importantly, social action.

Voor een andere Wereld from Observer1964 on Vimeo.

Lees hier verder.

Phage - The Virus that Cures

With MRSA threatening to infect huge numbers of patients who make even short trips to the hospital, and the gradual increase in the number of bacteria that are resistant to all known antiobiotics, scientists are turning to new ways to conquer the killer bugs.

The emergence of dangerous antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria is most prevalent in the USA where antibiotics are available over the counter and are often mishandled.

The answers to these problems may be locked in the science of the former Soviet Union, and whether this potential can be unlocked depends on subtle aspects of intellectual property and patent law, since pharmaceutical companies must be able to control the revenues from a discovery.
